Voisin Podiums in Silvaplana

SILVAPLANA, Switzerland (March 4, 2016) – Maggie Voisin (Whitefish, MT) earned her second FIS World Cup podium Friday when she finished third at the final slopestyle event of the 2016 season in Silvaplana.

For Voisin, the podium in Silvaplana comes just two weeks after her first World Cup podium at the Olympic test event in PyeongChang, Korea, where she placed second. The 17-year-old put down a great run that included back-to-back 900s. “So happy to end my (competition) season on the podium!” Voisin said in an Instagram post. “Huge congrats to all the ladies…looking forward to some spring skiing!”

Emma Dahlstrom of Sweden took first, wrapping up an incredibly strong year, including a win at the Visa U.S. Grand Prix in Park CIty and regular podiums throughout the season. Giulia Tanno of Switzerland was second.

Devin Logan (West Dover, VT) also made the final, finishing fifth. Keri Herman (Bloomington, MN) was ninth with Julia Krass (Hanover, NH) 15th.

For the men, McRae Williams (Park City, UT) was the top finisher in eighth. Colby Stevenson (Park City, UT) and Nick Goepper (Lawrenceburg, IN) also both made the final, finishing 12th and 16th respectively. Rounding out the men: Noah Wallace (Spokane, WA), 21st; Alex Hackel (Sunday River, ME), 22nd; Alexander Hall (Park City, UT), 25th; Tim Ryan (Gilford, NH), 33rd.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Maggie Voisin earned her second World Cup podium with a third-place finish. Her first run scored 69.60: backside 270 off, left 360 mute, right 720, left 900 tail, switch left 900 mute, slide, frontside 270 off.
  • It was the last FIS World Cup slopestyle event of the season.
