ASPEN, CO (Jan. 29, 2016) – Maggie Voisin (Whitefish, MT) finished just off the podium in fourth in the X Games slopestyle Friday. It was a highly competitive field and an excellent showing for 17-year-old Voisin. Kelly Sildaru of Estonia won gold, while Tiril Sjastad Christiansen earned silver and Johanne Killi of Norway bronze.

It was Voisin’s second X Games appearance - she earned the silver medal in slopestyle in 2014, which made her the youngest skier ever to earn an X Games medal. Fourth was a sweet finish for Voisin, who has worked hard to return to competition form after she suffered back-to-back injuries in 2014.

“It’s my first event back in over a year, so I’m happy with how I skied,” she said. “Going into this event I hadn’t really done a lot of my tricks. Within a couple of days I relearned everything and I have to be super happy.”

Other Americans in the field: Devin Logan (West Dover, VT) was seventh and Keri Herman (Breckenridge, CO) eighth.

Skiing at the X Games continues Friday night with women’s SuperPipe. Watch for Logan, Maddie Bowman (South Lake Tahoe, CA), Annalisa Drew (Andover, MA) and Brita Sigourney (Carmel, CA) to contend for the podium.

HIGHLIGHTS

QUOTES

Maggie Voisin
A year ago my goal was to be back at X Games and to ski the best that I could and I did that. The fact that I’ve only been jumping for a month now and I was able to put down that run - I’m just super happy to end up where I did.
