Skicross Athletes Prepare for Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup

TELLURIDE, CO (Dec. 11) - Team USA Ski Cross, led by Mammoth Lakes’s John Teller, welcomes back the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup tour to American snow for the first time in three years. The USANA Ski and Snowboard Cup in Telluride, CO kicks off Wednesday with race qualifying runs and includes the largest American field ever.  Qualifying runs will determine bracket positioning for ski cross heats in Thursday’s race. The USSA Network will carry live coverage beginning at 12:00 p.m. EST at www.usfreeskiing.com. It will also be broadcast live on Universal Sports TV with the NBC Sports Network airing the skicross race on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3:00 p.m. EST.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The USSA Network will carry live coverage of the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup from Telluride Dec. 13.
  • American John Teller (Mammoth Lakes, CA) will face off against the world's best skicross athletes in a head-to-head format.
  • Be on the lookout for Joe Swensson (Niantic, CT) and up and coming athletes Brant Crossan (Steamboat Springs, CO), Tyler Wallasch (Mammoth Lakes, CA), Robert Mahre (Selah, WA), Matthew Migel (Boise, ID), Trevor Ricioli (South Lake Tahoe, CA) and Nicolo Monforte (Squaw Valley, CA). 
  • The women’s field will include Langely McNeal (Sun Valley, ID), Madeline Riffel (Mammoth Lakes, CA) and Whitney Gardner (South Lake Tahoe, CA).
  • Live coverage of the ski cross event will air on the USSA Network at www.usfreeskiing.com beginning at 12:00 p.m. EST Thursday as well as live on Universal Sports TV.
  • Thousands of spectators are expected in Telluride over the course of the World Cup weekend.
  • Telluride’s Mountain Village will be the heart of the action for the racing.
