COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Dec. 19, 2014) - The U.S. Revolution Tour kicked off at Copper Mountain with Kyle Smaine (S. Lake Tahoe, CA) and Olympian Annalisa Drew (Andover, MA) winning the halfpipe competition, and Tim Ryan (Waterville Valley, NH) and Norwegian rider Johanne Killi taking home top honors in slopestyle.

Under cloudy skies, a heavy hitting international field showed up to compete at Copper Mountain’s 22-foot halfpipe and four-feature slopestyle course, but U.S. skiers took home three of the top spots. In women’s halfpipe, Annalisa Drew outdid New Zealander Janina Kuzma—who won the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix at Copper two weeks earlier—and French skier Anais Cardeaux, with a left 900 safety grab. On the men’s side, Kyle Smaine’s left corked 1260 on the first hit bested Colby Stevenson (Park City, UT) and Beau Wells (Wanaka, NZ) to take home the win.

Nadia Gonzales and Darian Stevens stood on the podium in second and third, alongside Norwegian Johanne Killi.

In slopestyle, the American men swept the podium, led by Ryan who landed a double 900 and double 1080 on the last two jumps of the course. Eddie Gildea took home second. Stevenson, who finished second in halfpipe event, took home his second podium of the week with a third place finish in slope.

On the women’s side, Norwegian Killi landed back-to-back 540s to win the event and Nadia Gonzales (Angel Fire, NM) and Darian Stevens (Missoula, MT) rounded out the rest of the women’s podium. The U.S. Revolution Tour continues Jan. 28-30 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, PA.

The Rev Tour, now in its 10th season, is the primary steppingstone series for athletes leading up to the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix, X Games, Dew Tour and Olympics.
