Kelley Wins Back-to-Back NorAms

PANORAMA, BC (Dec. 14 - Ski Racing Magazine News Service) - After his first NorAm Cup win on Dec. 13, American Robby Kelley took first again in Panorama, BC in Wednesday's giant slalom with a time of 2:02.76. The win moves him into eighth place in the men’s NorAm cup overall standings.

The American men skied competitively with six racers finishing in the top ten.

U.S. skier Charles Christianson took third, 0.15 seconds behind Norwegian Espen Lysdahl, who took second (2:03:03) with American Colby Granstrom just off the podium in fourth (2:03.19).

Other Americans in the top ten were Chris Frank, who finished in a dead heat with Norway’s Aleksander Amodt Kilde for seventh, Michael Ankeny in ninth, and Jared Goldberg in tenth.

On the women’s side, yesterday’s leader, Canadian Erin Mielzynski took first again in the slalom with a time of 1:48.60. Canada’s Eve Routhier took second (1:48.76).

Leading the U.S. women, Kiley Staples snagged the third spot on the podium with a time of 1:49.47. Other Americans of note were Hailey Duke in sixth, Julia Ford in ninth, and Lizzie Kistler in tenth.

Tomorrow will be the fifth day of NorAm Cup racing in Panorama, BC with a men's slalom and a women's giant slalom.
