First Snow Flies at Beaver Creek

BEAVER CREEK, CO (Sept. 23) - Beaver Creek Resort received its first natural snow of the season Sunday night, just over two months in advance of the mens' and women's Audi FIS Alpine World Cup races. The back-to-back Audi FIS Alpine World Cup weekends will serve at test events for the Feb. 2-15, 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships with events scheduled at both Vail and Beaver Creek. Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO), Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) and Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) along with the Best in the World women's speed team open competition Nov. 29-Dec. 1 with a downhill, super G and giant slalom on Raptor, the new women's competition track at Beaver Creek. Men's racing picks up the following weekend featuring Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) and multiple-time downhill winner Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) on Birds of Prey.
