Meg Olenick may be the kid sister of three-time Winter X gold medalist Peter Olenick, but she has a style that's all her own. The CO native has one of the strongest rail games on the women's circuit, a strength she mixes with her arsenal of stylish tricks as she lays down some of the smoothest runs in slopestyle.

Though somewhat new to the sport, she has stomped podium runs at the Aspen Open in 2010 and at the final stop of the Dew Tour in 2009, all while continuing to progress the slopestyle sport. Her and a strong cast of ladies have been looking to blow the world scene wide open. Unfortunately, Olenick was plagued by a devastating knee injury in both 2011 and again in 2012. Each time she hit the gym hard in order to come back in full force the next season.

In the summer of 2012, she put herself through a strong rehab program and strict on-snow training regimen. Olenick had her ticket booked and was ready to get back into some contests when she suffered yet another knee injury. Nonetheless, she is looking to persevere and get a chance to get on the Olympic team in 2014.

      MEG SAYS
This season did not quite go as planned, as I was coming off of an injury, but it gave me an ample amount of time to mentally and physically prepare for next year. I am looking forward to getting back into the competition season next year and still have my eyes set on making the Olympic team for Sochi 2014.

      FIRST TRACKS
Olenick grew up following around her two older brothers on the mountain and doing whatever they did. They started skiing park and she just followed them, trying to keep up. She says ”The first year my oldest brother Peter was in X-Games, I stood at the top of the course with him and knew that one day I would be standing up there for myself, with him alongside me.”

      OFF THE SNOW
Like many of her counterparts, Olenick can be found spending as much time as possible outdoors. She enjoys exploring the mountains on foot or spending long days on her road bike. Olenick adds, “I am starting to realize there are many things besides skiing that I love to indulge." Like helping others. When not outdoors, she volunteers at a youth drug recovery center. "Through that experience I find myself learning a lot about other peoples' lives and my own.”
