As the youngest of four siblings, Eliza Outtrim had plenty of family to chase down the slopes of Mount Snow. When the freestyle program got off the ground at the Vermont resort, she and her brother signed up.

After a breakthrough season in 2009, she hit the full World Cup tour, where she kept charging. In 2010, she grabbed her first World Cup podium, a victory no less, at the last competition of the season in Sierra Nevada, Spain. Then she went on to earn two silver medals in both duals and moguls at U.S. Nationals. In the 2011 season, she finished ninth overall in the World Cup standings and took her first national title with a win in the duals competition. Outtrim keep things going in 2013, when she earned four World Cup podiums and capped out the season ranked fourth.

During the 2014 Olympic season, Outtrim pulled out eight top-10 World Cup results and a spectacular sixth at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. To cap off her season, she earned double gold's at U.S. Championships and finished sixth in the World Cup moguls standings.

FIRST TRACKS
Growing up in Hamden, CT, Outtrim and the family skied often, usually at Mount Snow in Vermont. When Mount Snow started a freestyle program, she was on the first team. "There were eight or 10 of us, and we'd ski Waterville Valley, Sunday River, sometimes at Killington. It was fun," she says. She enrolled at Lowell Whitman School in Steamboat and worked through the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's heralded program. Outtrim kept punching her way up through the NorAms, and when she tied for second in NorAm moguls standings in 2005, she earned a spot on the U.S. Ski Team.

OFF THE SNOW:
Last summer Outtrim picked up mountain biking. “I can't believe I've lived in Colorado for nine years and am just now picking it up. I love, love, love it.”
