If you don't yet know Chris Corning's name, you will before long--this young ripper out of Summit County, CO is on the come up.

Corning began competing on the U.S. Revolution Tour in 2014, and by early in the 2015 season he hit his first podium. He won the USASA National Championship title in slopestyle that year, and by the 2016 season he was ready to step up to the elite ranks. He started that season with authority, taking home the slopestyle win at the FIS Audi Quattro Winter Games in Cadrona, NZ. With top-ten finishes on the U.S. Grand Prix Tour and at the Burton US Open, another World Cup podium (second at Spindleruv Mlyn), a repeat USASA title, Junior World Championship titles in both slopestyle and big air and the overall FIS Slopestyle World Cup title, it's safe to say that Corning has made a name for himself amongst the world's best.

Corning joins the U.S. Snowboarding Pro Slopestyle team in 2016, with promises of great things to come. He says, "Riding next to all these amazing athletes will push me really hard. I will be able to follow their lead and see how they do it, incorporate what they do into what I do and try to keep up with them." (monsterarmy.com)

      FIRST TRACKS

Growing up in Denver, CO, Corning had the opportunity to start snowboarding at the age of seven. He eventually moved to Silverthorne, CO, where he has easy access to resorts such as Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain. Before joining U.S. Snowboarding, Corning trained with the Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club.

      OFF THE SNOW

When he's not chasing snow around the globe, Corning likes to get on a dirt bike, skateboard and play frisbee golf. He recently started to check out yoga practice with his girlfriend, Jillian Moore.
