Referred to in recent years as "The Future of Women's Snowboarding," it's clearly now safe to call Chloe Kim the "Now of Women's Snowboarding."  

The 2015-16 season was all about Kim, who scored her second- and third-consecutive X Games gold medals, Youth Olympic Games gold medals in both halfpipe and slopestyle and earned an historical win at the U.S. Grand Prix in Park City where she became the first female to land back-to-back 1080s and to score a perfect 100. Kim's first X Games medal came at the young age of 13 (silver) and she is now the only athlete in X Games history to earn three gold medals before the age of 16.

Though her bubbly personality and broad smile may lead you to believe she's just another "normal" SoCal teenager, Kim is a fierce competitor who has worked very hard to get to the front of the pack. She was unable to compete at the Sochi Olympics in 2014 due to age restrictions, but she has her sights set on the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, where she will compete in front of family that still lives in her parents' native country of South Korea. 

FIRST TRACKS
Kim's father started her on a snowboard at 4 years old at their local resort of Mountain High, CA and she started competing at 6 as a member of Team Mountain High. Then she trained in Valais, Switzerland from 8 to 10 years old before returning to California and training at Mammoth Mountain, CA. Kim joined up with U.S. Snowboarding in 2013.

OFF THE SNOW
When she has time away from her hectic snowboard schedule, Kim is busy at Mammoth High School, where she studies with the Independent Learning Center. She has recently traded her manicured fingernails for the trimmed nails and calluses that come along with playing acoustic guitar. Fluent in French, English and Korean, Kim is a first-generation Korean American. She also loves animals and skating tranny.
