VALMALENCO, Italy (April 6, 2017) — U.S. junior freeskiers earned bronze medals in both the men’s and women’s FIS Freestyle Ski Junior World Championships slopestyle on Thursday, with Caroline Claire (Wilmington, VT) on the podium for the women and Ryan Stevenson (Washington, NJ) getting it done for the men.

It was an excellent finish to the 2017 season for Stevenson, who had great results on the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour. The 17-year-old New Jersey skier took a first and a second-place finish at the dual-comp stop at Waterville Valley in January.

SEVEN SPRINGS, PA (March 7-8 2017) – Caroline Claire (Wilmington, VT) swept the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour slopestyle events at Seven Springs this week, topping both podiums. The overall Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour champions were also crowned, with Claire winning for the women and Ryan Stevenson (Washington, NJ) for the men.

Cal Carson (Winter Park, CO) and Cody Laplante (Truckee, CA) also found the Rev Tour podium, placing second and third respectively for the men on Tuesday, while Nikita Rubocki (Boise, ID) was second for the women on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s event also served as the final stop of the FIS NorAm Cup Tour. Ethan Swadburg (Dillon, CO) was third in the NorAm Cup overall standings. Phillippe Langevin of Canada was first overall and his countryman Patrick Dew in second. The Canadian women swept the overall standings: Sofia Tcherntsky taking the top spot, Emma Stevens was second and Megan Cressey was third.

SEISER ALM, Italy (Jan. 28, 2017) – American freeskiers grabbed huge podium finishes at the FIS World cup slopestyle event in Seiser Alm on Saturday. Colby Stevenson (Park City, UT) earned his first World Cup win and Caroline Claire (Willmington, VT) earned her first World Cup podium with a third-place finish.

Stevenson was the clear winner of the day, posting up superior performances on both the rails and the jumps.

“It’s unreal man,” Stevenson said after the competition. “I couldn’t be more happy right now.”

The 19-year-old member of the U.S. Freeskiing rookie team was joined on the podium by Colin Wili of Switzerland in second and Australian skier Russ Henshaw in third. 

It was a big finish for Claire, who was making her first World Cup appearance after finding great success on the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour the past two seasons. Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland took the win for the ladies, while French skier Colline Ballet-Baz took second.

WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH (Jan. 10, 2016) – U.S. Freeskiing rookie slopestyle team member Caroline Claire (Wilmington, VT) hit the podium twice at the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour at Waterville Valley this week, including a win on Monday. The second stop of the Rev Tour featured back-to-back slopestyle competitions; Claire was first on Monday and second on Tuesday.  

On Monday, Claire was joined on the podium by local girl Grace Henderson (Waterville Valley, NH) in second and Marin Hamill (Park City, UT) in third. On Tuesday, the same ladies owned the podium, but in a different order: Henderson first, Claire second, Hamill third.

WINTER PARK, CO (March 2, 2016) – The Revolution Tour continued this week with a stop at Winter Park Resort, where some of the world’s best up-and-coming freeskiers competed in back-to-back slopestyle contests. Americans Nadia Gonzales (Keystone, CO) and Caroline Claire (Willmington, VT) each picked up a win for the women, while Aaron Milligan (Avon, CO) and Cody Cirillo (Breckenridge, CO) both took wins for the men.

Rookie slopestyle sensation Caroline Claire was born to ski. This Vermont native has been on skis since she could walk and busted onto the slopestyle scene in 2014 by winning USASA Nationals.

The 2015 season proved to be fruitful for Claire, who earned two U.S. Revolution Tour podium finishes and a bronze medal at the FIS Junior World Championships in Italy.
