Position Summary
The Eastern Alpine Regional Program Director will lead the implementation of broad-based USSA alpine programs within the eastern region, to include the scheduling, facilitation, evaluation and growth of USSA and FIS scored and non-scored racing, club development and education, coach education clinics, SkillsQuest events and education, and officials education and assignment.  The Director will oversee and direct the implementation and operation of the eastern region competition system (competition calendars at all levels of USSA and FIS competition within the region), including officials education and assignment.  The Director is responsible for direct communication with the USSA Clubs within the eastern region, providing leadership, education, information and an avenue for coordination and feedback.  The Director is responsible for providing leadership to the Eastern Alpine Program Manager and other administrative staff as assigned.  In cooperation with the Alpine Regional Development Director (who will provide governance leadership in the areas of athlete development and regional athletic performance), the Director will provide leadership to the eastern alpine governance in the areas specified within the scope of work, facilitating their work to advise on the implementation of USSA programs throughout the eastern region, and to promote the sport and USSA programs throughout the region.

Core duties (in order of importance):
The Eastern Alpine Regional Program Director shall be responsible for the following:

Eastern region competition system:
• Develop competitions calendars
• Direct the operation of the competition system (qualifications, confirmations, entry lists, race files, etc.) and manage on-site operations at FIS races
• Officials education and assignment

Club development and education:
• Assist in planning the education and certification of USSA clubs in the eastern region.
• Club communication
• Ensure and respond to USSA's SafeSport policy within the region

Coach education:
• Assist in the planning, education and certification of USSA coaches
• Develop and schedule opportunities to facilitate the participation of USSA coaches in the USSA's coaching education program
• Facilitate broad-based coach education

SkillsQuest:
• Facilitate SkillsQuest in the region

U14/16 projects:  In the absence of a Youth Coordinator, work under the direction of the Alpine Regional Development Director, schedule, plan, manage and execute projects for U14/16 athletes (where a Youth Coordinator is available, that staff will report directly to the Alpine Regional Development Director and will be responsible for U14/16 projects)

Governance:  In coordination with the Regional Development Director, provide leadership to the eastern alpine governance

Staff supervision:  Oversee Eastern Alpine Regional Program manager and other related administrative staff (regional coaches, youth coordinators and other related development staff will report to the Regional Development Director).

Additional: Other duties or special projects as assigned by the USSA Alpine Program Manager.

Required Skills and Attributes
• Passion for the USSA Vision and success of USSA programs
• Experience in running alpine competitions
• National-level experience in alpine racing as competitor, coach, administrator or official 
• Proven leadership, management, and administration skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven organizational and project detail skills
• Mature demeanor with experience in personnel management.
• Computer competency including internet, spreadsheets, word processing and presentations.
• Ability to travel.
• This is an overtime exempt position.
