Account Executive Industry Relations

 

 

Main Attributes

o Ability to interact with elite athletes, licensees, suppliers, retailers and agents as well as the appropriate USSA staff.
o Develop solid rapport with and manage licensee, supplier and partner expectations.
o Accountability for/ to revenue performance
o Communicate effectively with a widely dispersed group of stakeholders, through a variety of mediums.
o Strategic planning and execution against a long-term vision for the supplier, consumer products marketing and retail programs.  This includes management of our Fanstore.com relationship and any and all custom retail opportunities
o Concrete understanding of the overall scope and value of the licensee/supplier relationships
o Project management within the department—live streaming project, facebook and social media activations, Youtube Channel content development and management, and more
o Engage with all endemic partners on content generating programs that drive topline revenue growth, ensures the future of the supplier pool participation, and evolves the value of the pool to content creation and distribution and away from straight fees
o Create new areas of revenue and opportunity to deliver annual growth.
o Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation and organizational skills.
o Proficiency in and orientation toward customer service.
o High standard for quality of work, detail-oriented, practical and organized.
o Self-motivated and driven to improve/grow from current conditions.
o Extensive experience / comprehension within the ski/snowboard industry is necessary.

Position Summary:
This position must identify, cultivate, grow and strengthen relationships with the USSA’s  endemic suppliers, media partners, and select licensee and apparel partners. Candidate must have industry experience and develop equipment resources for USSA athletes and teams.  Knowledge of industry retail marketplace and online shop/e-commerce experience required.  Also must possess a strong understanding of the evolving digital and social media landscape and be able to engage all USSA partners, rightsholders, stakeholders, and fans in to USSA assets both existing and to be built.

Primary Duties:

1. Management of the supplier group (hard/soft goods) relationships
- Contract renewals (by Sept. 1 annually).
- New supplier development.
- Oversee the structure of the supplier group and provision of required equipment to the athletes/teams.
- Communicate to and foster relationships with suppliers to ensure the continued participation and protect the significant revenue stream realized by these partnerships.
- Develop new avenues of revenue and innovation (i.e. freeride)
- Implement marketing/promotional opportunities for pool suppliers (add value)

2. Management of USSA team uniform supplier relationships
- Oversee alpine/staff uniform logistics and ordering.  In coordination with the Alpine Head Coaches / Team Managers, oversee the alpine uniform selection and assist the Sales/Marketing department with managing the relationship with the alpine uniform suppliers.
- Oversee freestyle/staff uniform logistics and ordering. In coordination with the Freestyle Head Coaches / Team Managers, oversee the freestyle uniform selection and assist the Sales/Marketing department with managing the relationship with the freestyle uniform suppliers.

3. Cultivate, grow and manage USSA's digital assets
- Develop and project manage all live streaming opportunities
- Develop fanbase initiatives with internal resources and endemic partnerships
- Find new revenue opportunities in the digital space for the department and USSA
- Maximize digital assets and social media interactions within the company to the fullest, collaborate on all digital projects with other departments and get programs to market
- Develop and implement marketing plans for the digital landscape
- Contribute photography from events and endemic partnerships and shoots to the USSA photo vault and asset portfolio. 

4. Implement USSA retail strategy
- Evaluate opportunities in the retail market. (Bricks/mortar, store within a store, stand alone shop, airport programs, mass retail)
- Define go to market strategy / launch plan
- Restructure the online shop to capitalize on e-commerce, revenue opportunities
- Build as part of USSA Digital Network
- Create product line that appeals to the mass consumer

General Working Conditions:
This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week (generally 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily) Monday - Friday.  This is an exempt position, which requires travel to events and other ski/snowboard industry trade shows.
