Kelly Clark (West Dover, VT) has been named as a finalist for the Women’s Sports Foundation’s 2015 Sportswoman of the Year Award.

Founded in 1974 by tennis legend Billie Jean King, the Women’s Sports Foundation works with girls and women to advance their lives through sports and physical activity. Each year, they nominated two categories in their Sportswoman of the Year Award: Individual Sports and Team Sports.

Clark was nominated for the individual award because of her overall FIS World Cup gold in women’s halfpipe, winning six major competitions, including the US Open and Grand Prix, and her X Games silver. Clark already took home an ESPY Award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete for her performance in 2014-15.

Voting started on August 17 and concludes at 11:59 p.m. EST on August 31. Winners are determined by a combination of public vote (50 percent) and the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Awards Committee’s vote (50 percent).
