PARK CITY, UT (Dec. 22) – U.S. Ski Team athlete and Westminster College student Dylan Ferguson (Amesbury, MA) led the U.S. men in second at today's Columbia Super Continental Cup. Madison Olsen (Park City, UT) took the top U.S. spot for the women in second and Allison Lee (Manchester, CT) rounded out the podium in third. The Columbia Super Continental cup drew in athletes from five different nations to put their pre season training to the test. This weekend marked the first event to the 2012-13 season. Both moguls and aerials will take a break for the holidays. The teams will meet up Jan. 19 at the USANA U.S. Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid, NY. The aerials World Cup opens in China in early January.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Dylan Ferguson (Amesbury, MA) was the top U.S. man in second at the Columbia Super Continental Cup in Park City.
- Madison Olsen (Park City, UT) took the top spot for the U.S. women with a career best second.
- Assoli Slivets and Ilya Burov of Russia took the top spots for women and men
- Allison Lee (Manchester, CT) rounded out the podium in third.
- Ferguson landed his first World Cup podium last season on home snow at Deer Valley.
- The U.S. took four podiums from the weekend event out of a possible 12
- The next stop on the aerials circuit is Jan. 5 in Chanchun, China.
- Both moguls and aerials will come together Jan. 19 at the USANA U.S. Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid, NY.

Today was awesome! It was a great contest with a lot of competitors. The Utah Olympic Park put on a great event and a big thanks to Columbia for helping out with the event.
Today was a lot of fun because a lot of the younger kids were able to compete in their first competition and the development athletes were able to compete what they've been working on. This is a great way to start off the season and I'm looking forward for the next spot on the competition circuit.

Training wasn't so great today. It was really windy during training but for qualifications and finals it calmed down. This competition puts me in a really good position to start in more World Cups this season. It's a great way to kick off the season and I couldn't be more excited.

We are very proud of how the team competed over the weekend. The conditions today were difficult but our young team did really well in spite of that. This is a great way to kick off the season and we're looking forward for the next competition!
