I would have liked to have a better start; it wasn’t the greatest. But you’ve got to try to refocus and work on getting into the top two positions so you can advance to the next round. I was battling all the way down and trying to get up there, stuck in that third spot for most of the way. I set up the pass for the last bank and was running a really tight line. It’s tough to do in these soft conditions, so I spun out and that was the end of it.

It’s been a great experience being in the Olympics. I’m very proud to be here representing my country. I’m the only skicross athlete here, so I’m very proud to be here. I had to fight to get this spot, so I’m proud of that for sure.

I’d really like to see skicross progress. We’ve got a lot of young guys that are already racing skicross and starting to figure stuff out. I’d like to see some of the same opportunities that these other teams have and give us a little bit more of a fighting chance.
