The snow has just about melted in Park City, UT but the skis and snowboards aren't packed away just yet. When athletes aren't chasing the snow around the world, they're taking advantage of everything Park City has to offer.

The Center of Excellence is buzzing with U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing athletes prepping for the upcoming season with demanding summer training regimens.

"Life as a pro athlete is phenomenal" said U.S. freeskier Jen Hudak. "And to have support from the Center of Excellence and our amazing trainers relieves any stress that may come with that. It serves as a constant reminder of how lucky we are and is extremely motivational. We strive to be the best we can be and the Center of Excellence encourages that."

The impressive season of results don’t just happen with on snow training. The dedicated athletic trainers work day-in and day-out prepping athletes with grueling dryland training during the summer months so they are fully prepared for what the winter months bring. From team building exercises to individual max testing – some athletes might argue that the summer months are even more grueling than the winter.

The Center of Excellence opened its doors in May of 2009 and has been a game changer for the U.S. athletes. It's a one-stop-shop for fitness, nutrition and rehabilitation with best in the world staff to aid the best in the world athletes.

"The summer is when the bulk of the athlete's dry-land training happens" said High Performance Senior Physiologist, Tschana Breslin. "This is a critical time for the athletes to heal up any injuries, make big strength and power gains, and work on their conditioning that will help carry them through the comp season. The COE is definitely a busy place this time of year!"

And Park City is not a terrible place to call home in the summer months. When athletes aren't in the gym, mountain biking, trail running and rock climbing can also be considered part of their training regimen. All with the goal of even better on snow results!
