It’s been just three years since the USSA formed a new sport, U.S. Freeskiing, with the IOC following suit in adding halfpipe and slopestyle skiing to the Olympic program. Tonight, under the lights in the HAM Stadium at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park, Maddie Bowman joined teammate David Wise as an Olympic Champion – sweeping halfpipe titles. That combined with the men’s slopestyle sweep and Devin Logan’s silver gave U.S. Freeskiing an impressive six of 12 medals awarded in the two events.
