MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, CA (Feb. 8, 2017) – The 2017 Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour continues this week at one of the nation’s premier ski and snowboard resorts, Mammoth Mountain. Some of the world’s top junior snowboarding athletes are slated to compete in big air, slopestyle and halfpipe.
MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN HIGHLIGHTS
Some of the world’s best up-and-coming athletes will compete at the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour on the jumps and jibs of Mammoth Mountain’s world-renowned Unbound Main Terrain Park, as well as the original superpipe—the 22-foot Unbound halfpipe that has long been a training and competition ground for the world’s elite athletes.
Recently recording the snowiest January on record, Mammoth Mountain is prepped and ready to host the third stop of the Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour. No stranger to top-level winter sports athletes, Mammoth has long served as a training ground for USSA’s premier athletes, providing world-class halfpipe, slopestyle and big air venues, as well as hosting Project Gold development camps that take place each May.
TOYOTA U.S. REVOLUTION TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
The Rev Tour offers up-and-coming athletes the chance to break into the professional ranks. Snowboarders earn points on the WST tour in addition to important FIS points. The Rev Tour also offers an overall prize purse of $67,000.
The Toyota U.S. Revolution Tour is a much-needed stepping stone between grassroots amateur events and elite-level professional events. American Olympic medalists such as Sage Kotsenburg, Maddie Bowman and Kaitlyn Farrington all furthered their competitive careers with success on the Rev Tour.
