Olympians Kelly Clark, Alex Deibold and Devin Logan spent their Halloween weekend visiting the United States Military Academy at West Point as part of USSA’s Military Mentorship Program (MMP). Sponsored by PenFed, the MMP brings veterans, active-duty service members and elite athletes together to create meaningful experiences build relationships and share their personal stories of teamwork, perseverance and reaching the limits of their potential.

The weekend was action packed, with the athletes attending both a hockey game and the highly anticipated Army vs. Air Force football game. Athletes spent time on the ice and on the field with the Army athletes and other cadets in attendance.

“Getting to spend time with the cadets is really rewarding,” said Deibold. “The discipline and focus it takes to be a part of the military and the discipline and focus it takes to be an Olympic athlete correlate really well. There’s a lot of value in sharing our experiences.”

Clark, Deibold and Logan were also able to meet notable, high-ranking officials from the Army and Air Force, including General Raymond T. “Ray Odierno, a U.S. Army general and current Chief of Staff of the Army, and General Martin. E. Dempsey, the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
