Lodwick Headlines Continental Cup Field

PARK CITY, UT (Dec. 12) – Olympic medalist and world champion Todd Lodwick (Steamboat Springs, CO) will headline a large field of athletes from xx nations this weekend at International Ski Federation Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions at the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow. Lodwick, who is taking a break from the World Cup, will lead a strong U.S. Ski Team in the opening event of the global series. The Continental Cup is a steppingstone circuit to the World Cup, with athletes vying for top spots to qualify them for the World Cup. Competitions are set on the 2002 Olympic venues for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with trial round jumping at 9:30 a.m. at the Utah Olympic Park and cross country at 2:00 p.m. at Soldier Hollow.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Todd Lodwick (Steamboat Springs, CO) will highlight the field at the season opening FIS Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow.
  • The Continental Cup is a vital qualifying series for the global World Cup.
  • Other top U.S. Ski Team athletes will include Nick Hendrickson (Park City, UT), Adam Loomis (Eau Claire, WI), Michael Ward (Aspen, CO) and Brett Denney (Steamboat Springs, CO).
  • Action starts each morning with trial jumps at 9:30 a.m. at the Utah Olympic Park.
  • Competitions conclude with a 10k cross country race at 2:00 p.m. at Soldier Hollow outside Midway.

10:30 a.m. – Competition jump (HS100 meters), Utah Olympic Park
2:00 p.m. – 10k Gundersen start cross country, Soldier Hollow

Saturday, Dec. 15
9:30 a.m. – Trial jump (HS100 meters), Utah Olympic Park
10:30 a.m. – Competition jump (HS100 meters), Utah Olympic Park
2:00 p.m. – 10k Gundersen start cross country, Soldier Hollow

Sunday, Dec. 16
9:30 a.m. – Trial jump (HS100 meters), Utah Olympic Park
10:30 a.m. – Competition jump (HS100 meters), Utah Olympic Park
