Lillis, McKinnon Take Silver and Bronze

VALMALENCO, ITALY ( March 21) – Jonathan Lillis (Rochester, NY) and Kiley McKinnon (Madison, CT) took silver and bronze Wednesday at the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships. The U.S. took its top aerial and mogul athletes to the event that is the largest competition of the season for athletes under 20.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jonathan Lillis (Rochester, NY) took second for the men
  • Kiley McKinnon (Madison, CT) placed third for the women
  • Mac Bohonnon (Madison, CT) took fifth for the men
  • McKinnon won the 2012 aerials NorAm
  • Lillis was recently named aerials Rookie of the Year on the FIS World Cup tour
  • Valmalenco, Italy is located near Bormio, not far from the Swiss border northeast of Milan
  • Slopestyle events begin Thursday and moguls on Friday
