Lillis and Vinecki Win at Val St. Come

VAL ST. COME, Qubebec (Feb. 29, 2016) – In the third aerials NorAm cup event of the season in Val St. Come, Chris Lillis (Pittsford, NY; EADP) and Winter Vinecki (Salem, OR; EADP) each took home a win, leading an eight podium weekend for the U.S. athletes. Athletes competed in two competitions Feb. 25-26.

Lillis, who returned to the NorAm circuit after winning his first World Cup in Belarus, landed a full, full, full to take the win on the first day of competition for the men. Canada’s Lewis Irving was second and Thomas Coe (Stafford, VA; EADP) third.

The Canadians took the top spots on day one of the women’s competition, with Catrine Lavallee and Naomy Boudraeu-Guertin finishing first and second. Kira Tanghe (Essex Junction, VT; EADP) was the lone American on the podium in third.

The American women stepped it up on day two, with Vinecki leading a U.S. podium sweep. Vinecki landed a lay full with a score of 71.92 to take the win. Megan Nick (Shelburne, VT: EADP) was second and Tanghe third.

On the men’s side, Irving landed the win on home turf with a double full, full. Coe was second and Patrick O’Flynn (Penfield, NY; EADP) third.

After the Val St. Come events, Lillis leads the men’s NorAm cup standings with 330 points, while Vinecki leads the women’s with 352 points. The final competition of the season will take place March 5-6 at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, UT.
