Leeds and Austin Sweep Jr Worlds Silver

VALMALENCO, Italy (March 28) – Freeskiers Broby Leeds (Vail, CO) and Zyre Austin (Glenwood Springs, CO) swept the men's and women's halfpipe silver medals Thursday at the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Italy. Battling snowy conditions that made for challenging speeds the young athletes charged through the elements for the first American medals of the championships. Leeds is coming off two wins at the U.S. Revolution Tour finals in Sun Valley and USSA Junior Nationals in Park City. Next up skicross finals for FIS Junior World Championships on Friday March 29.

  • Freeskiers Broby Leeds (Vail, CO) and Zyre Austin (Glenwood Springs, CO) swept halfpipe silver at the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Valmalenco, Italy.
  • Leeds recently won the final stop of the U.S. Revolution Tour in Sun Valley one week ago and USSA Junior Nationals in Park City.
  • Austin recently placed fourth behind tough competition at the FIS NorAm the Aspen/Snowmass Freeskiing Open.
  • Hannah Haupt (Sun Valley, ID) and Jeanee Crane-Mauzy (Park City, UT) were fifth and sixth respectively.
  • John Leonard (Vail, CO) just shy of the podium came in fourth and Dan Rosenblum (Stamford, CT) seventh.
