Kearney Out in Front After Voss

VOSS-MYRKDALEN, Norway (March 16) – Olympic bronze medalist Hannah Kearny (Norwich, VT) returned to the top of the World Cup standings Sunday with her win at the Voss dual moguls World Cup. Kearney faced off with rival Canadian Justine Dufour-Lapointe in the final round, where she took the win and took back the yellow bib with only one dual moguls competition remaining. Bradley Wilson (Butte, MT) also landed on the podium in third to lead the U.S. men, finishing behind the men’s winner, Mikael Kingsbury of Canada. Now the athletes head to La Plagne, France for World Cup Finals next weekend.

• Olympic bronze medalist Hannah Kearny (Norwich, VT) returned to the top of the World Cup standings Sunday with her win at the Voss dual moguls World Cup.
• Kearney faced off with rival Canadian Justine Dufour-Lapointe in the final round, where she took the win and took back the yellow leader bib. Kearney leads Dufour-Lapointe 750-745 with only one dual moguls competition remaining.
• All three Dufour-Lapointe sisters made it into the top four, with Justine second and Chloe beating Maxime in the small final for third.
• Heather McPhie (Bozeman, MT) skied into fifth followed by Keaton McCargo (Telluride, CO) in sixth and Eliza Outtrim (Hamden, CT) ninth.
• Bradley Wilson (Butte, MT) also landed on the podium in third to lead the U.S. men, finishing behind Canadians Mikael Kingsbury and Alex Bilodeau.
• Jeremy Cota (Carrabassett Valley, ME) ended the day in sixth with Patrick Deneen (Cle Elum, WA) eighth, Bryon Wilson (Butte, MT) ninth, Joe Discoe (Telluride, CO) 12th and Troy Murphy (Bethel, ME) 15th.
• Falling snow reduced visibility and speeds on Sunday, but created a soft course for the event.
• Now the athletes head to La Plagne, France for one last dual moguls competition at World Cup Finals next weekend.
• Then the athletes head to Deer Valley Resort for the 2014 USANA U.S. Freestyle Championships Mar. 28 – Mar. 30 to battle it out for the U.S. title.

There wasn't a lot different today than yesterday. But I tried to focus on enjoying the day and my skills. And with so many runs in duals I was able to tune something up each time, since there was something I needed to fix each run. But I was able to ski fast and keep my feet together. 

I went back to just a heli on the bottom air today since I can go into that with more speed. It was fun dueling Justine. You don't always get to duel the person you're battling against for the bib.

We've been dealing with weather here the whole time. It will snow, get warm and then rain, so the conditions have been really tough. I was just trying to hang on today. My final run against Alexandr Smyshlyaev, who won yesterday, got a little crazy. Somehow I was able to land some kind of backflip to my feet.
