Healey and Marino Lead Ladies at Rev Tour

WINTER PARK, CO (March 5, 2016) – It was all red, white and blue for the snowboarders at the Winter Park stop of the Revolution Tour this week. The stop featured back-to-back slopestyle competitions in Winter Park’s famed Dark Territory terrain park, where the Americans swept both men’s and women’s podiums at both events. For the ladies Nora Healey (Plymouth, NH) took the win on Friday and Julia Marino (Westport, CT) took the win on Saturday. On the men’s side, Chandler Hunt (Park City, UT) topped the competition on Friday, while Chris Corning (Arvada, CO) won on Saturday.

Healey, who won a gold medal in slopestyle at the FIS Junior World Championships in 2015, earned her first win on the Revolution Tour. She was joined on the podium by Hailey Mattingley (Sandy, UT) in second and Michelle Zeller (San Francisco, CA) in third.

Marino was fresh off an impressive 12th-place finish at the Burton US Open of Snowboarding the day before. She was joined on the podium by Mattingley in second and Serena Shaw (Bondville, VT) in third.

Hunt has made it to the Rev Tour podium before (third at Mammoth Mountain in 2015) but it was his first win. Brett Moody (Anchorage, AK) was second and Spencer Vaughan (Steamboat Springs, CO) finished third.

Corning also competed at the US Open the day before, finishing seventh amongst a highly-competitive men’s field. Dylan Thomas (Brooklyn, PA) was second and Luke Winkelmann (Boone, NC) was third.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nora Healey was first in slopestyle on Friday for the women. Her best run scored 86.75: 50-50 to frontside 360 out, backside 360 indy, backflip, 50-50 to frontside 180 out, Cab 540 mute, frontside 540 tail.
  • Chandler Hunt was first in slopestyle on Friday for the men. His best run scored 84.25: switch lipslide 270 out, switch backside 720, Cab double 900, 50-50 to backside 360 out, frontside 720 tail, backside double 1080 mute.
  • Julia Marino was first in slopestyle on Saturday for the women. Her best run scored 88.75.
  • Chris Corning was first in slopestyle on Saturday for the men. His best run scored 96.50.
  • The U.S. Revolution Tour is the place for top amateur skiers and snowboarders to prove their merit and transition from competing at grassroots to the elite level.
