CRAFTSBURY, VT (February 6, 2016) – The Trapp Family Lodge had to relocate the USSA Super Tour races to Craftsbury, Vermont due to a bad spell of warm weather and rain up until the races. Despite the quick change of plans the USSA Super Tour 10/5k freestyle races went on successfully on Saturday, where Annie Hart (Stratton Mountain School) and Patrick Caldwell (Dartmouth College) both claimed their first Super Tour Victories of the season.

In the women’s 5k freestyle, Annie Hart snagged first just 2.8 seconds ahead of Chelsea Holmes (APU Nordic Center) and teammate Erika Flowers (Stratton Mountain School) in third. Hart has been creeping up in the Super Tour results all season and Saturday, the hard work paid off as she finally reached the coveted top spot on the podium.

In the men’s 10k freestyle, Caldwell had a convincing 37.9 second win over Tad Elliot (Vail Ski and Snowboard Club), the 2016 20k freestyle National Champion, and Kris Freeman (Freebird) who finished third. This was Caldwell’s first Super Tour win of the season.
