WAITSFIELD, VT (Sept. 30) – Hundreds of people gathered Sunday to witness the dedication of a new, 33,000 square foot Racing Performance Center at the Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS). The $10 million facility is the first of its kind in the east, modeled after the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s Center of Excellence in Park City, UT. It fuses high-performance athletic facilities with the world’s most advanced ski tuning, expert physical training, video analysis, comprehensive physical therapy and all coaches’ offices in one central location.

Dave Gavett, GMVS Headmaster, gave a brief dedication speech before inviting the hundreds of visitors to take guided tours of the new facility. Parents, staff, and community members walked through the building and interacted with expert coaches, ski technicians, and athletic trainers. They learned about the facility’s high quality building materials, energy-efficiency, equipment, workout programs, and the variety of high-level training options available to the GMVS student-athletes.

GMVS has always aimed to provide our athletes with the best platform for success, but a facility like this really elevates the level of performance that we can achieve. We owe a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to our donors and to the huge team of people that helped make this vision a reality.
