Freeskiing Halfpipe and Slopestyle Wrap Up Rev. Tour Action

SEVEN SPRINGS, PA (Feb. 11) – Freeskiing took center stage for the second half of the Pop-Tarts U.S. Revolution Tour at Pennsylvania’s Seven Springs Resort, and the high-flying competitors did not disappoint. Despite low visibility early on, Thursday’s halfpipe skiing event went big, with Jake Cummings (Vail, CO) and Jeanee Crane-Mauzy (Park City, UT) taking the men’s and women’s titles respectively. Slopestyle skiers rounded out the action on Friday, as Scott Nelson (Colorado Springs, CO) and Isabel Atkin (Park City, UT) earned top honors. Though Friday’s event concluded the Seven Springs stop, look for the Rev Tour to return to action Feb. 23-28 at Mammoth Mountain.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Jake Cummings (Vail, CO) took the victory in men’s halfpipe skiing, scoring a 75.40. Birk Irving and Cal Carson (both Winter Park, CO) joined Cummings on the podium.
• Cummings’ winning run: leftside 900 blunt, 720, switch 360, rightside 540 mute, cork 720 and a switch alley-oop rodeo.
• Jeanee Crane-Mauzy** (Park City, UT) earned the women’s halfpipe victory, scoring a 78.80. Isabel Atkin and Simone Augspurger (Basalt, CO) rounded out the podium.
• Crane-Mauzy’s winning run: rightside 540, mute grab, tail grab, leftside 540, rightside 360, switch leftside 360 and a tail grab.
• Scott Nelson (Colorado Springs, CO) took top honors in the men’s slopestyle final, scoring an 81.40. He narrowly topped runner-up Keegan Kilbride (Portland, ME) and Ethan Swadburg (Dillon, CO).
• Nelson’s winning run: 270 on to switch, switch on to backside 450, switch cork 1080 safety, switch unnatural 900 mute and a double cork underflip 900.
• Isabel Atkin sealed the women’s slopestyle victory, scoring an 83.40 ahead of Anna Tedesco (Salt Lake City) and Melanie Harding (Meredith, VT) in second and third.
• Atkin’s winning run: straight slide, straight slide, leftside 540, switch rightside 540 and a rightside 360.
• The Pop-Tarts U.S. Revolution Tour resumes action Feb. 23 at California’s Mammoth Mountain Resort.

I felt pretty good about my run. I laid down the same run as I did at the Park City Grand Prix, which is good—I didn’t have to add any crazy danger.

The second run I got to go for a switch left 540, which I’ve never done before. I landed it but didn’t get as many tricks in my run, but I was excited about landing a new trick. I’d like to get a right 720 into a left switch 540 by the end of the season.

I felt pretty good. I don’t really ski pipe too much anymore, but I’m glad I decided to do it.

I’m stoked to go to the events. Mammoth is a sick venue, I’ve always wanted to go there. I’m hoping I can podium in pipe and slopestyle as we head to the next stop.
