First Tracks Alpine Team Naming

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Nov. 7) – The 2015 U.S Alpine Ski Team will be announced this Saturday, Nov. 8th during Nature Valley First Tracks, a free public celebration in Copper Mountain’s Center Village. The team presentation is set for 4 p.m. This is one of the few times almost all of the U.S. Ski Team alpine athletes will be together this season. Home to the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, Copper Mountain is the U.S. Ski Team’s early season training resort partner. Despite challenging early season conditions, the team at Copper Mountain has provided early season training for the U.S. Ski Team this week in preparation for the upcoming season. Copper Mountain will also open its hill to the public on Friday, Nov. 7th.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The 2015 U.S Alpine Ski Team will be announced this Saturday, Nov. 8th during Nature Valley First Tracks. The team presentation is set for 4 p.m. Public is welcome to the free ceremony.
  • Over 30 athletes from both the men and women’s alpine teams will be in attendance including many of the Team’s Olympic medalists.
  • Despite challenging early season snowmaking conditions, the team at Copper Mountain has been working around the clock to optimize the resources available for the team’s preparation for the upcoming season.
  • Copper Mountain is home to the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center which, when open, provides U.S. skiers with an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup level training slope
  • The speed center features 87 HKD automatic snowmakers, two miles of World Cup Supply A-net with steel structures, five miles of World Cup Supply B-net and fencing set on 4,500 Reliable Racing netting poles.

3:45 p.m.: U.S. Ski Team Parade into Burning Stones Plaza
4:00 p.m.: Team Presentation: Meet the 2014-15 U.S. Alpine Ski Team
5:00 p.m.: U.S. Ski Team Autograph Signing, Copper Conference Center
