EADP Athletes Soar at Lake Placid NorAm

LAKE PLACID, New York (Feb. 16, 2016) – The second aerials NorAm competition of the season took place this past weekend, Feb. 13-14, at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, NY. U.S. Both men and women competed in two days of competition, with U.S. Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP) athletes taking home nine podiums.

On day one of competition for the men, Canada’s Lewis Irving took home the win, landing a full, double full with a score of 100.11. Wesley Perry (Fort Collins, CO/UOP Sports Club) earned his first Nor-Am podium, finishing second, followed by teammate Michael Lillis (Pittsford, NY/Bristol Mountain Snow Sports Club) in third.

Canada’s Catrine Lavallee won the first women’s competition, landing a lay full for a score of 76.27. Megan Nick (Shelburne, VT) was second and Erica Stemler (Park City, UT/UOP Sports Club) was third.

U.S. athletes swept the podium in the men’s second competition, with EADP’s Justin Schoenefeld (Lawrenceburg, IN/EADP) taking the win. Schoenefeld performed a lay, lay for a score of 77.11. Jasper Holcomb (Manchester, MI/EADP) was second and Dakota Fochs (Marcellus, MI/EADP) third.

On the women’s side, Lavallee earned her second win of the weekend, besting her lay full score from Saturday with a 80.04. Kira Tanghe (ESSEX Junction/EADP) and Nick finished second and third respectively.

The NorAm tour continues Feb. 25-26 in Val St. Come, Quebec.
