Duals Titles for Wilson and Outtrim

PARK CITY, UT (March 30) – Olympians Bradley Wilson (Butte, MT) and Eliza Outtrim (Hamden, CT) raced through heavy snow Sunday to pin down dual moguls titles at the USANA U.S. Freestyle Championships at Deer Valley. It was Outtrim’s second victory of the weekend after she won the moguls title on Friday, while Wilson finished second place on Friday. Sunday’s event wrapped up the U.S. Freestyle Championships and capped another incredible season for U.S. Freestyle Ski Team.

• Olympians Bradley Wilson (Butte, MT) and Eliza Outtrim (Hamden, CT) raced through heavy snow Sunday to pin down dual moguls titles at the USANA U.S. Freestyle Championships at Deer Valley.
• It was Outtrim’s second victory of the weekend after she won the moguls title on Friday, while Wilson finished second place on Friday. Outtrim now has a total of three U.S. titles to her name while Wilson now has two.
• Nick Hanscom (Park City, UT) skied into second in the men’s big final, while Joe Discoe (Telluride, CO) took the third spot with Jay Panther (Park City, UT) fourth. Dylan Walczyk (Rochester, NY) finished fifth.
• U.S. Ski Team rookie Sophia Schwartz (Steamboat Springs, CO) finished second in the women’s big final, her second silver medal of the weekend. Elizabeth O’Connell (Winter Park, CO) finished the day in third with Lane Stoltzner (Steamboat Springs, CO) fourth. Stoltzner also notched a third place on Friday.
• Snow showers turned heavy during finals, but the soft, wet snow on the 2002 Olympic venue held up surprisingly well for the last competition of the season.
• Sunday’s event wrapped up the U.S. Freestyle Championships and capped another incredible season for U.S. Freestyle Ski Team.

It feels really good. It was a really long season. I consider it a success to come here and win it on the last competition of the year. It’s a good way to go out for sure, especially here at Deer Valley; it just makes it that much better.

It was insane. I had to do a couple goggle switches. It was super wet. The course actually stayed pretty good. It was able to stay soft unlike the rest of the mountain. It was pretty good. I’m just happy to make it down.

Eliza Outtrim
It feels amazing. I don’t really know what I expected this week. There weren’t that many Team members here, so I was really hoping that me and the few teammates here could sweep the podium. It’s a little unexpected I suppose. It was a lot of duals skiing today. We had to duel from a round of 32, which is unusual because in World Cup we only duel from 16. I was just happy to make it to the finals and get Sophia.
