Deer Valley to Host U.S. Freestyle Champs

PARK CITY, UT (Feb. 26) - The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has now confirmed Deer Valley Resort as the site for the 2014 USANA U.S. Freestyle Championships Mar. 28 – Mar. 30. The world-class World Cup site will host U.S. athletes as they come together for the final event of the season to battle it out for the U.S. title. Leading the team will be two-time Olympian Pat Deneen (Cle Elum, WA) and two-time Olympian Ashley Caldwell (Ashburn, VA).

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Deer Valley Resort will play host to the 2014 USANA U.S. Freeestyle Championships March 28-30 and will be the final freestyle event of the 2013-14 season.
  • Championship events will include moguls, dual moguls and aerials.
  • Two-time Olympian Pat Deneen (Cle Elum, WA) will lead the moguls team along with 2010 Olympic medalist Bryon Wilson (Butte, MT) and his brother, 2014 Olympian Bradley Wilson (also Butte).
  • Ashley Caldwell (Ashburn, VA), also a two-time Olympian, will lead the aerials team along with Olympian Mac Bohonnon (Madison, CT), who finished 5th in the 2014 Sochi Games.
  • The event was moved from its originally scheduled location at Heavenly.
  • Deer Valley is one of the world’s most renowned freestyle venues, having played host to the World Championships twice and a perennial stop on the FIS World Cup tour.
