Cook Takes Third in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID, NY (Jan. 18) - Veteran Emily Cook (Belmont, MA) jumped to a third place finish Friday at the USANA Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid, NY. Cook threw three stunning jumps with solid landings keeping her above the cut the entire night.  Mangtao Xu and Zongyang Jia both of China continued their winning streaks and possession of the Yellow Bib. Aerials action will continue with another event tomorrow evening.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Veteran Emily Cook (Belmont, MA) took third in the USANA Freestyle Cup
  • Madison Olsen (Park City, UT) and Emily Cook (Belmont, MA) were the two U.S. women to make it through the qualifying round
  • Dylan Ferguson (Amesbury, MA) and Mike Rossi (Long Valley, NJ) were the two U.S. men to make it through the qualifying round
  • Ferguson ended the event in 12th
  • Teammates Madison Olsen (Park City, UT) and Mike Rossi (Long Valley, NJ) both had career best World Cup finishes taking 9th and 8th respectively.
  • Rossi threw a full, double-full, full (three flips, four twists) for only his third time on snow which qualified him into the next round
