ASPEN, CO (Mar. 12, 2015)—For two years in a row, Red Bull has hosted the Double Pipe, a masterpiece of snow-innovation, putting two 22-foot halfpipes side-by-side with rails, wallrides, channels, a skatepark-esque bottom section and other unique features. For two years in a row, Chase Josey (Hailey, ID) has been a major standout, winning the Rider’s Choice Award last year and beating out Sochi slopestyle sliver medalist Stale Sandbech of Norway and 2015 FIS World Champion Scotty James of Australia for the win this year.

Josey, who qualified third into finals behind brothers Ben and Gabe Ferguson (Bend, OR), was on-point throughout the semifinals—a two-hour jam session and the three-run best-of finals format—using his technical halfpipe skills to land big double Michaelchucks over the 24-foot channel gap and using his stylish park skills on the wall ride and spine transfers.

“I was feeling really good all week, and I decided to turn it on,” Josey said after the comp. “I’m so happy right now. It just all came together today. I’m so stoked.”

QUOTES
Chase Josey, 2015 Red Bull Double Pipe winner

This event was so much fun, it felt like I was just riding with my friends. Everyone was cheering and clapping and smiling and joking. The course design is one-of-a-kind and it’s the most innovative feature I’ve ever ridden. There's tons of room for creative, unique technical lines and tricks, and that’s what I tried to do today. I’m so happy it paid off.
