When her dad was diagnosed with melanoma four years ago, U.S. Freestyle Ski Team aerialist Maddy Olsen began thinking of ways she could help her dad as well as other people fighting the battle against cancer. This month, Olsen is organizing a Cancerversary Fundraiser at the Utah Olympic Park in her hometown of Park City, UT.

“Rather than dwelling on the war against cancer, we chose to celebrate life and all of the love and support that surrounds us,” said Olsen. “It will be truly amazing for the Park City community to celebrate not only my dad's life, but all of those who are fighting or have fought cancer within our community.”

Read more about Maddy’s story in her interview with the Park Record.

The Cancerversary Fundraiser runs from 12-2 p.m. on Aug. 15 at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, UT. Tickets to the event, which includes admission to the Flying Ace All-Star show at 11 a.m., cost $15. For those who just want to attend the fundraiser and not the show, tickets are $5. Donations can be made here.
