YABULI, China (Mar. 15, 2015)—The Junior World Championships American halfpipe team cleaned house in Yabuli, China on Sunday. On live TV broadcast around China, Madison Barrett (West Chesterfield, NH) took home the gold and Clara Jenner (Salt Lake City, UT)—the top junior—earned the bronze. On the men’s side, Toby Miller (Truckee, CA) and Chase Blackwell (Longmont, CO) took silver and bronze behind Lee-Jun Kweon from Korea.

A New Hampshire native, Barrett landed back-to-back 540s and 360s on her second run to earn her first major event win under the lights at China’s largest ski resort. “I’m super stoked to win Junior Worlds,” Barrett said. “I wasn’t expecting it in the least and it was a great turnout.” Maddie Mastro (Wrightwood, CA), U.S. Revolution Tour leader, was just off the podium in fourth.

Toby Miller, Chase Blackwell and Nathan Jacobson all stand to celebrate their results.

Miller nearly stole the evening from Kweon, almost landing one of the biggest tricks of the night—a double cork 1080—but failed to land it on his final run, settling for second. “I’m really stoked on a second,” Miller said. “I went for the double cork 1080 on my second run but couldn’t put it on my feet!”

Rounding out the American men, Nathan Jacobson (Bend, OR) finished fourth and Joshua Bowman (Mammoth Lakes, CA) eighth. Chandler Hunt (Park City, UT) was 11th.
