YABULI, China (March 13, 2016) – Jamie Anderson (South Lake Tahoe, VT) won the TTR Pro Snowboarding/WSF World Snowboard Federation’s World Championships of Snowboarding big air title in Yabuli, China on Sunday. Jessika Jenson (Rigby, ID) was third for the ladies and Kyle Mack (West Bloomfield, MI) was second for the men.
Anderson, who is fresh off a win at the Burton US Open in slopestyle, won the world title with a pair of 720s (Cab and frontside) in the two-run format. “I’m really stoked,” she said of the win. “I kind of played it safe, but I think it was a smart call for me. I like the format—I think it’s good because it shows diversity but I’m definitely excited to learn some bigger tricks for big air. It’s just been a hectic winter—I want to work on more tech tricks but for the time being I just did what I know I can land consistently.”
It was Jenson’s first big air podium in her second start (she placed fifth at February’s Polartec Big Air at Fenway). “It was an awesome day—the jump was really good and all the girls were throwing down—it was really progressive for us,” said Jenson. “I was happy I could land two tricks—I didn’t ride my best but I was really happy to make the podium with these ladies. Everyone was killing it and we had such a good time.”
Big Air at Fenway winner Julia Marino (Westport, CT) was fifth and Karly Shorr (Milford, MI) 10th.
Behind Mack, Chas Guldemond (Reno, NV) was fifth, Ryan Stassel (Anchorage, AK) ninth, Brandon Davis (Mammoth Lakes, CA) 11th, Eric Beauchemin (Grand Blanc, MI) 15th; Nik Baden (Steamboat Springs, CO) 25th and Chase Josey (Hailey, ID), 32nd.

- Kyle Mack was second for the men. His best two jumps were: frontside 1440 tail, backside triple cork no grab.

I can’t believe it I’m so happy, so grateful I was able to put down a couple of good runs. I as a little bit unconfident going in, barely qualifying in fifth but I knew it be a different ballpark when we had to throw down two different runs. I’m really stoked.
