PARK CITY, UT (March 25, 2016) – U.S. Snowboarding has named 27 young, talented athletes to the 2016 U.S. Junior World Championships Team. The U.S. will send five athletes to compete in slopestyle and big air, nine athletes to compete in PGS/PSL and 13 athletes to compete in snowboardcross.

The slopestyle and big air events will take place in Sieser Alm, Italy March 29. The strong team of U.S. athletes will be led by Chris Corning (Arvada, CO). Corning, who is 16 years old, was the FIS crystal globe recipient for overall snowboard slopestyle points winner this season.

Maggie Carrigan (Steamboat Springs, CO) will lead the team of PGS/PSL athletes headed to compete in Rogla, Slovenia April 2-3. Carrigan, who also competed at Junior Worlds in 2015, has multiple FIS podiums including a second-place finish at the Holiday Valley Resort Nor-Am Cup in February.

The snowboardcross athletes will compete April 4-6, also in Rogla. Jake Vedder (Pinckney, MI) and Meghan Tierney (Edwards, CO) will lead a team of strong snowboardcross contenders. Vedder was the gold medalist in snowboardcross at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in February.
