PARK CITY, UT (Nov. 3, 2015) – The U.S. Revolution Tour has announced its 12th season, with a four stops tour for both freeskiing and snowboarding. Longtime U.S. Revolution Tour partners Copper Mountain, Mammoth Mountain and Seven Springs Mountain Resort are back for the 2015-16 season along with first time resort partner Winter Park. The 2015-16 season offers more opportunities than ever for the next generation of freeskiers and snowboarders to hone their competition skills, win a piece of the $67,000 total prize purse and step up to the pro ranks, earning points on the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP), World Snowboard Tour (WST) and International Ski Federation (FIS) tours.
A stalwart early season stop on the U.S. Revolution Tour, Copper Mountain will once again kick the season off Dec. 6-11. Copper’s legendary 22-foot halfpipe will host back-to-back halfpipe events, giving freeskiers and snowboarders an early season opportunity to earn some valuable tour points.
Long-time event partner Mammoth Mountain, home of the award-winning Unbound terrain parks and pipes, is set to host a freestyle trifecta Jan. 26-31. Freeskiers and snowboarders will compete in Mammoth’s 22-foot halfpipe, award winning slopestyle course and the only big air on the Rev Tour.
New U.S. Revolution Tour partner Winter Park Resort will drop into the Rev Tour with back-to-back slopestyle events in their Dark Territory terrain park Feb. 29 - Mar. 5.
Seven Springs Mountain Resort will host the final halfpipe and slopestyle events of the season, crowning the U.S. Revolution Tour champions Mar. 14-18. In addition to crowning Rev Tour titles, this year’s snowboarding podium placers will earn invites to the World Rookie Fest in Austria on April 1, 2016, and the freeskiing events will be the FIS Freestyle NorAm finals, giving freeskiers an opportunity to walk home with two titles in one day.
The 2015-16 season marks the second year that the Rev Tour and Hole Shot tour will work together, giving snowboardcross and skicross athletes an opportunity to train and compete on world class venues Ski Cooper, CO, Feb. 20-21 and Squaw Valley, CA, Mar. 18.
