A rising talent since she was seven, Ty Walker has been on a steady climb up the ranks since her debut on the slopestyle scene. Though she struggled with injury in 2016, abbreviating her season, she still managed an eighth-place finish at the Mammoth Mountain stop of the U.S. Grand Prix. A 2014 Olympian, Ty represented the United States on it's inagural snowboard slopestyle team. Walker came into the 2014 season strong, landing just shy of the podium in fourth place at the U.S. Grand Prix in Copper. Then she pegged down a third-place finish at the first U.S. Grand Prix in Mammoth and secured her spot on the first Olympic slopestyle snowboarding team. A badly bruised heel from a crash during practice kept Walker from riding to her potential on the Olympic stage, but this pint-sized young gun will put that Olympic experience in the bank as she gears up for PyeongChang. In 2015, Walker won the very first women's snowboard big air World Cup event in Istanbul. With big air slated to make it's Olympic debut in South Korea, Walker has an excellent chance to score Olympic gold in 2018. FIRST TRACKS OFF THE SNOW |
