Brown got his U.S. Ski Team career off to a great start in 2010 by winning two NorAm competitions and earning his first World Cup start, where he finished 23rd. Two more NorAm top-five results gave him the overall title. After finishing fourth at the Olympic Trials, he made another big stride by landing on the podium with a bronze medal at the 2010 U.S. National Championships. At his first World Championships in 2011, Brown led the American men in 12th place. In 2013, Brown earned four top-15 results, one of which was at the 2014 Winter Olympic venue in Sochi, Russsia.
