Jessika Jenson's 2016 season was highlighted by a pair of podium appearances at elite events--third at the Corona World Championships of Snowboarding and second at the Mammoth Mountain U.S. Grand Prix of Snowboarding. Jenson is an Olympian, having represented the U.S. in Sochi at the inagural snowboard slopestyle event.

A self-starter, Jenson began competing at age 14 at local Idaho resorts, namely Kelly Canyon and Grand Targhee. With appearances at every possible open event, Jenson began climbing the ranks and mingling with other talented riders. During the last four years, Jenson has continued to progress her riding and her bag of tricks, which includes her signature frontside 720.

The 2014 season was Jenson’s real breakout season. At the final two Olympic qualifiers at the Mammoth U.S. Sprint Grand Prix Jenson earned back-to-back third-place finishes, landing her a spot on the first-ever Olympic slopestyle snowboarding team. After a solid thirteenth place in Sochi, Jenson continued to climb the international ranks with an eighth at the Burton U.S. Open, punctuating a great season for this rising star.

Building upon her Olympic momentum, Jenson nabbed her first World Cup podium in the 2015 season, earning third place in slopestyle at Stoneham.

      FIRST TRACKS
Jenson started skiing at age six at Kelly Canyon Ski Resort near Rigby, ID. By 10 she made the switch to snowboarding, and although she never had lessons, the entire Jenson family went to the mountain every weekend to “pretend to know what we were doing…we eventually caught on,” she says.

      OFF THE SNOW
When Jensen isn’t snowboarding, she likes to ride dirt bikes, wakeboards and mountain bikes. You can also find her jumping on trampolines and working out during the summer, and since she is on the road all winter, she has a lot of catching up to do with her friends at home. In her free time, she also makes neck warmers called J!Wow Nekk Armor.
