Emilia Wint took the women’s slopestyle scene by storm in 2011-2012, kicking off her season with a Revolution Tour win. Top finishes at the Killington Dew Tour stop, Aspen/Snowmass Open, and the Mammoth Grand Prix World Cup earned her invites to Dew Tour Finals and Euro X, where she placed fourth and fifth respectively. Wint capped off her breakout season with a second at the AFP World Championships in Whistler and finished fourth in the world for slopestyle on the AFP ranking list. With her impressive results and fearless style on jumps and rails, Wint earned herself a spot on the U.S. Freeskiing pro slopestyle team.

She continued her strong skiing throughout the 2012 summer and took the win at The North Face New Zealand Freeski Open. Then in December 2012, Wint was competing at the Breckenridge Dew Tour and suffered a season-ending knee injury. Wint dedicated the following ten months to rehab and moved to Park City to take advantage of the facilities at the USSA Center of Excellence.

Fully rehabbed and hungry to get back on skis, Emilia was an Olympic hopeful heading into the 2013-2014 season. In a cruel twist of fate, Wint took a fall off of a rail while training at Keystone and re-injured her knee. Although disappointed to spend another season recovering, Wint was optimistic and pointed out that she has youth on her side, and plans to make an even stronger comeback to snow later in 2014.

FIRST TRACKS
When Wint was three, she wanted to ski all day. Her dad would take her out in the morning and then trade off with her mom so they could ski together in the afternoon. Both Wint and her sister started ski racing at nine, but they weren’t feeling it. She says, “We would drop our poles off the lift on ‘accident’ so that we could ski the fun runs under the chair instead of gates with the team. I joined Hawks Freeride at 13 and have been with them ever since.”

OFF THE SNOW
When not skiing, Wint enjoys bouncing and practicing on trampolines. She also swims and likes to soak in hot tubs. In the summer she enjoys camping, hiking, biking and enjoying the summer months in the mountains.
