A veteran and inspiration in women's snowboarding, Elena Hight has seen a lot of "firsts" in her career. In 2013 she became the first rider (male of female) to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo in competition (X Games Aspen). She's had frontside 900s on lock since she became the first female to land one in competition in 2003, at just 13 years of age. She was also the first female to land a backside 900 in competition, doing so in 2007. She earned her first Olympic appearance in 2006, when she finished sixth in Torino. She was back on the team in 2010, taking 10th in Vancouver.

Hight is a five-time X Games medalist (three silver, two bronze) and also has wins at the Burton US Open and U.S. Grand Prix of Snowboarding.

In the Spring of 2016 the South Lake Tahoe native took her snowboarding to the big mountains, filming with the Full Moon film crew on the peaks and faces of Alaska.

      FIRST TRACKS
Thanks to her father Mike, Hight first stepped on a snowboard at age six. She began competing in local events when she was eight. Her skills progressed quickly and she skyrocketed upward, landing at some of the biggest competitions in the world before she could even drive a car.

      OFF THE SNOW
Hight is a health-focused athlete who loves to paddle board, run and cook healthy dishes like Thai curries. A native of Hawaii, Hight is a huge surfer and spends a lot of time in the ocean when she's off her snowboard.
