New Hampshire native Chas Guldemond moved to Lake Tahoe in 2005 to seriously pursue professional snowboarding. “After a lot of hitchhiking to the mountain, training everyday and living off of PBJs and eggs” he took second at the 2006 US Open. After that, it all fell into place. He has officially sealed his spot as one of slopestyle's biggest names with wins at elite contests around the world including the US Open, Arctic Challenge, X Games, U.S. Grand Prix and the Winter Dew Tour. Guldemond was also a member of the of the inagural U.S. Snowboarding Olympic slopestyle team that traveled to Sochi in 2014.

Guldemond came into the 2014 season as a favorite to represent snowboarding slopestyle in its Olympic debut in Sochi. A top American finish at the Dew Tour and a third-place finish at the U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth secured his ticket to Sochi, where he finished 15th in the historic slopestyle debut.

Absolutely one of the hardest working men in snowboarding, Guldemond continues to innovate and play to his strengths to secure podium spots. In 2015, Guldemond started the season off strong with a win at the Dew Tour and backed that up with a second-place finish as a part of the U.S. men's podium sweep at the U.S. Grand Prix in Park City, UT. In 2016 he scored a pair of podium finishes on the U.S. Grand Prix tour, finishing third in slopestyle at Mammoth Mountain and then third at the historic big air event on the scaffolding jump built in Fenway Park.

      FIRST TRACKS
It all started in New Hampshire for Guldemond, who started skiing in 1990 at the age of three. He switched to snowboarding seven years later and began competing at Gunstock Mountain Resort, his local hill, just one year after that. As his ability progressed he attended the Waterville Valley Academy and then worked side jobs to pay for passes and equipment until he started earning prize money.

      OFF THE SNOW
When he’s not snowboarding, Guldemond is usually hanging out with his wife Drea and their son Rocky. He likes to ride dirt bikes and skateboard at the Truckee skate park but also spends time in the gym training for snowboarding. He sits on the World Snowboard Tour board as an athlete representative, working to better the sport.
