A series of knee injuries left Caldwell off the competition circuit for over two years, but that hasn't stopped her from becoming an unstoppable force in women's aerials. Caldwell went on to become the first U.S. woman to perform a full, full, full and landed herself a 10th at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games. The momentum continued to flow for Caldwell in the 2015 season. On home snow at Deer Valley, Caldwell secured her first World Cup win since 2011 with two high degree of difficuly triples. At 2015 World Cup finals in Minsk, Belarus, Caldwell was once again in the top podium spot, ending her season ranked number two in the aerials World Cup standings. 2016 was Caldwell's best season yet. With four podiums on the World Cup, she took home the women's aerials title and capped off her season with her third career national title. Caldwell continued to add to her impressive resume in 2017 with a gold medal at the FIS Freestyle World Championships, where she became the first woman to cleanly land The Daddy - a full, double full, full.

FIRST TRACKS
After 11 years of gymnastics training, Caldwell picked up aerials quickly. “The strength and acrobatic skills I acquired as a gymnast really translated well into my skiing career,” she says. Watching the 2006 Winter Games on TV inspired her, and, at age 13, she decided to become a freestyle competitor. A trip to the Lake Placid water ramps in the summer of 2007 to train alongside the U.S. Ski Team proved fateful. After a summer at the pool at Waterville Valley Ski Academy, she took it to the snow and was invited to join Dmitriy Kavunov's Elite Aerial Program. Two years later she joined the U.S. Ski Team, became an Olympian and was named the FIS women's aerials Rookie of the Year.

Q: Tell us about your career in your sport.
A: My career could be characterized by its extreme ups and downs - literally and figuratively. I've been known to always push myself, and my coaches to let me do bigger tricks because I wanted to be like the boys. This means I have taken a lot of crashes and had my fair share of injuries, but I've also come away with some great results, including two Olympic Games appearances, an overall title and a World Championship medal. I think all my teammates would agree I'm a little crazy, but I'm also super passionate about what I do and have a lot of fun doing it.

Q: Name your favorite mustic artist(s) that motivates you.
A: Taylor Swift, X Ambassadors, Milky Chance, Bruno Mars
