Hard working Alexi Micinski, or “Lexi” as her friends and family call her, has been steadily working her way up the slopestyle ranks. In the 2011-2012 season she placed second at USASA Nationals and took 10th at USSA Junior Nationals, catching the attention of the U.S. Freeskiing team coaches.

The winter of 2013 was a bit of a breakout season for Micinski. She won the USSA Revolution Tour in Seven Springs and took third at the Aspen/Snowmass Freeskiing Open, but she didn’t stop there. She earned an invite to FIS World Champs, went on to win the FIS World Cup Finals in Spain, and a then took the silver at the FIS Junior World Championships in Italy. Not too bad for her first real season on the competition circuit.

Micinski headed into the 2014 season as an Olympic hopeful. With solid results the previous season, Micinski landed her first Dew Tour invite and a spot in the Grand Prix, the Olympic qualifying series. Unfortunately, she suffered an ACL injury in January at the Breckenridge Grand Prix and her Olympic dreams were put on hold for another four years. With an exemplary positive attitude and a strong work ethic, Micinski is looking forward to making a full recovery and is putting in the time with the staff at the USSA Center of Excellence to get stronger than ever.

ALEXI SAYS
This season I competed in my first Dew Tour, and I had my sights set on Sochi before being taken out of the scene by a blown ACL. I’m looking forward to getting back on my skis and having a strong comeback next season.

FIRST TRACKS
At six years old, Micinski’s parents put her in ski school at Bogus Basin. She fell in love with it then and hasn’t looked back.

OFF THE SNOW
Micinski is a member of the inaugural high school graduating class of the USSA TEAM Academy, where she was able to complete her studies while focusing on her skiing. She currently takes classes at Westminster College, which she attends through her partnership with USSA. In the summertime you’ll find Micinski whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, skating and jumping on the trampoline.
