Assessment Resources

The Principle of Assessing Desired Outcomes and Measuring Desired Results is:

USSA clubs are committed to assessing desired outcomes and measuring desired results in the following areas:

  • Organizational performance
  • Athletic performance
  • Student-athlete career and life performance
  • Parent, family and volunteer performance
  • Community performance

The key word in the principle above is "desired." Too often USSA Clubs and other organizations try to engage in the process of assessment or measurement without establishing clear and measurable goals in the first place. See the section on Leadership and Governance which covers elements of planning and strategic goal setting. In order to measure you have to first set clear and measurable "desired" outcomes and results. These are going to be different for each and every club, and can be dynamic within individual clubs.

Below are resources and information about best practices that will help USSA clubs meet these principles. For more in-depth access to these types of resources, as well as direct support, forums with other club leaders, resource sharing, potential deployment of Club Expert Consultants and other opportunities for developing your club, see USSA Club Certification.
