Data Management

Data management is crucial for the successful operation of your club. Data management is the administrative process in which necessary data is acquired, validated, processed and stored with the goal of valuing data as an asset.

Data will come into the organization from various sources: membership data, financial data, donor data, sponsor data, community contact data, event contacts data, resort contacts data, USSA regional and national, etc. As part of your communications plan, it is important to identify processes that can collect, validate and process this data from multiple sources such that it can be stored and organized in one place.

There are various databases that a ski or snowboard club may need to manage information efficiently and effectively. Data management can be produced and maintained through software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Split Second Software, Google Documents and QuickBooks.

No matter what platform you use, it is important to make clear policies and guidelines across your organization for how data gets compiles, organized and accessed. This process can make many important club processes and activities more efficient and ultimately improve the nature of the club’s relations with its various constituents.
